Goodman completes £15million infrastructure investment at Crewe Commercial Park

Global integrated property group, Goodman has invested £15million into infrastructure improvements at Crewe Commercial Park as part of a wider plan to attract further business to the site. Part of these improvements comprise a new highway which was officially unveiled at a ceremony on Monday 27 July.

Goodman owns and manages Crewe Commercial Park and as a result of its investment, the site has benefitted from a new road, extensive landscaping, screening and ecology areas. Construction began in July 2014 and was completed this week.

The new one kilometre road will connect Gresty Road with the A500 and has been named Jack Mills Way in honour of the Crewe-based train driver who was the innocent man in charge of the train involved in the 1963 Great Train Robbery. The ceremony was attended by a number of high-profile officials, including Edward Timpson MP and Councillor David Brown, Deputy Leader of Cheshire East Council. Ian Mills, Jack Mills’ grandson, was on-hand to cut the ribbon and officially unveil the road.

The new infrastructure at Crewe Commercial Park represents a significant investment for the Park and the local area as a whole. The site now comprises 55 acres of employment land and  six acres of mixed use land. This is in addition to 25 acres of residential land, which is now the subject of a residential planning application by housing developer Taylor Wimpey North West for the whole 25 acre plot.

This would no doubt continue to improve the region’s infrastructure to help make the idea of a Northern Powerhouse a reality.”

Crewe is served by excellent transport connections, including both road and rail. Easy access is available to the M6 and there are regular direct services to London and other major cities from Crewe. Substantial local occupiers include Bentley Motors, Bombardier and Morning Foods, as well as a number of leading logistics companies.

Crewe Commercial Park can accommodate a flexible range of bespoke units ranging from 50,000 sq ft to 750,000 sq ft. The site is strategically located, providing potential occupiers with excellent road connections to both J16 &17 of the M6.
