Closed Loop Recycling

Overview

Goodman are development partners for the GLA (previously the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation) for the development of its flagship London Sustainable Industries Park in Dagenham. The decision to choose Goodman reflects our proven track record in delivering sustainable buildings.

Closed Loop Recycling is the UK’s first food grade plastics recycling business. The facility avoids the unnecessary disposal or export of 35,000 tonnes of mixed plastics each year.

Goodman developed the building to provide flexible industrial and office space with numerous sustainably orientated features appropriately designed to fit with the credentials of the business. Combining our development skills with the vision of our customer has led to this high quality, sustainably orientated business solution. Sustainable features, including wind generators, solar thermal, solar photovoltaics, CHP, sun pipes, triple skinned roof and ecological features have led to the building performing significantly better than the current UK required standard.

The combination of energy efficiency and renewable energy measures reduces the potential operational energy related greenhouse gas emissions by over 50%.
